A comfortable and functional kitchen is such an important aspect of any home, no matter how big or small. Kitchens are where people hang out, great conversations happen, families bond and food is made and consumed. We spend so much time in the kitchen at our craftsman house and I know we will do the same at the Lake House. Therefore, 0ne of the first projects we need to tackle is the kitchen!
What is wrong with the Lake House kitchen… Everything! The cabinets are old and dated, the stove was purchased in 1969, and the layout is configured in the most illogical way. We want to open the space up, lighten the walls and cabinets, and highlight the reclaimed wood structure. I am dreaming of a farmhouse sink, white subway tile, planked walls, taupe cabinets, a reclaimed island, open shelving, wood floors and farmhouse elements. I have pulled together some great inspiration images from other blogs and websites to get my creative juices flowing!
